Customer privacy is the utmost concern for State Bank of India. We value customer relationship and shall endeavor to safeguard the customers� privacy at all times. Best practices are employed to prevent unauthorized access & sharing of the customer information.

Some of the principles & practices followed for ensuring Customer Privacy are as follows:
  1. We use state of the art security systems to ensure the privacy of the customers� bank account details and other information provided by the customer. The web-site is Verisign certified, PKI-enabled and uses 128-bit encryption for file transfers which is currently the permitted level of encryption in India. When the information provided by the customers is not transmitted through this encryption, the customers' system (if configured accordingly) will display an appropriate message ensuring the best level of secrecy for the customers' information.
  2. We shall adhere to the confidentiality norms as applicable to banks. Customer is also required to comply with the norms of the system to ensure better services.
  3. Only essential information is collected from the customer to ensure best of our services, propose various products and to administer our business.
  4. Customer information is accessible only by authorized personnel thus safeguarding the data of customers. Personnel who violate the norms will be subject to our disciplinary processes.
  5. Customer can be assured of their data privacy as the information is shared only on business prospects between reputed service sectors like financial affiliates, clearing houses, exchange houses etc. Disclosure of customer data to governmental or judicial or regulatory bodies shall be done only under proper authorization.
  6. We assure not to disclose the customer information to any other external organization without due permission/agreement or unless the same is necessary to provide you the essential services, propose various offers, etc.
  7. Customers shall not disclose their personal/confidential information to any unauthorized or fradulent emails in the bank�s name and they are advised to use the feedback or contact mechanism facilitated for them in the site.
  8. Customers shall not disclose any confidential information relating to State Bank of India or its Affiliates obtained in the course of availing the services through the website. Failure to comply with this obligation shall lead to necessary disciplinary action or even termination of the services to the customers by State Bank of India or its Affiliates.
  9. Customer data is appropriately logged and maintained up-to-date for reference purposes adhering to the due norms & regulations.
  10. In case of any mishaps, for example, user ID/password has been disclosed to a third party or unauthorized transactions have happened on the customer�s accounts, the customer shall be responsible to inform us at the earliest.
  11. Customer cooperation is essential to secure their information, for example, Not disclosing the user ID/password to anyone, Following the recommended security tips to prevent unauthorized access. For example, to make the password complex and difficult for others to guess, the customers should use combination of alphabets, numbers and special characters (like !, @, #, $ etc.).
